OC16 Sports is officially on summer break. Sure we have some summer school classes to take. But for the most past, school is out!
With that said, this past school year marked the end of our 24th-season of "live" high school sports broadcasts.
Hard to believe it's been that long!
Number 24 turned out to be a wonderful year. It marked the first ever broadcasts for wrestling, judo, and track-field.

I have a theory that every year, time, actually speeds up. I mean how else can you explain that we're already one-third into the year and more than halfway through our diamond sports already!
Last week, we had to very nice doubleheaders of ILH baseball. Couple of thoughts after seeing them...
* Mid-Pacific is a well coached and a machine in terms of executing on the diamond. They put a tremendous amount of pressure on an opposing team. Maybe they don't blast the ball... 
This Saturday we have our third (and final for the season) mixed ILH and OIA softball doubleheader.
It's been about three years now that we've been able to have one broadcast and feature teams from both leagues.
I think it's awesome because everyone gets to watch four unique teams from two unique leagues.
The origins of these "mixed" doubleheaders was trying to find a way to have more games from both leagues on OC16. It grew out of two problems. One, a budget that was cut. &nbs... 
This past weekend, was our annual sign that spring is here and winter is out.
Granted in Hawaii, it's not that big a deal in terms of temperatures. But hey, it's a changing of seasons.
For OC16 Sports, we know it's spring time when we leave the gyms and head back out to the diamonds for softball and baseball.

I want to thank everyone who emailed or left voicemails with feedback on this past Saturday's HHSAA Wrestling Championships. It sure seems that a good number of you enjoyed the live broadcast - OC16 Sports' first for the event.
We're still waiting to see how the viewership numbers added up to begin a more in-depth analysis.
But I will say we were impressed with the quality of wrestlers, coaching, and officiating.
